I Can Make You Feel Good | Tyler Mitchell
Library
A celebration of photographer and filmmaker Tyler Mitchell's distinctive vision of a Black utopia.
In his debut monograph Mitchell unifies his body of work from his solo exhibition in New York. With a strategic full bleed format, the book's immersive design mirrors the photographer's all-encompassing vision, which is characterized by a use of glowing natural light and rich color to portray the young Black men and women he photographs with intimacy and optimism.
As Mitchell puts it - 'I feel an urgency to create a body of images where Black people are visualized as free, expressive, effortless, and sensitive. I Can Make You Feel Good is simply a declaration. And one that I feel is gut-punching in its optimism. It feels important to at a time like this to declare such a thing'.
