Collection: Liz Lenny
Elizabeth Lenny’s work combines notions of time and place, with pieces informed by material memories, as well as her encounters and interaction with the natural world. Using these moments in time as a starting point, each piece becomes a correspondence between herself and the material, following its natural curves, grain, and resistance, in turn revealing the story of its own formation. Elizabeth’s process relates to traditional craft techniques, primarily using hand tools to slowly reveal form. The resulting work occupies space between functional object and sculpture, encouraging interaction and use, promoting continuous change over time.
