Colleen McCarten | Shapes To Meditate To

Colleen McCarten | Shapes To Meditate To

APRIL 13TH TO JUNE 4TH 2022

Shapes To Meditate To represents a continuous body of work that started with a spool of yarn. The yarn has been turned into fabric through the laborious and meditative process of: winding the warp, threading the loom, weaving the fabric. Once taken off the loom, the fabric was manipulated further into shapes: stretching, stitching, pulling, painting. This investigative manipulation of the fabric is used to map out the structure and possibilities of hand made material.
